DRIVING DIRECTIONS
The airport is a short taxi ride from town, although it is also
possible to take the half-hourly bus, which transports passeng
ers to Santa Maria Novella Station, in the centre of Florence.
Then take bus number 36 or 37 and get off in via dei Serragli.
A taxi from the airport costs approximately 10-15 EUR. Buses se
rvice the city centre; tickets can be bought at tobacconists or
vending machines. Tickets are sold on a time basis - one-hour,
two-hour or 24-hour tickets. Traffic is restricted in the city
centre and parking is expensive, so the centre of Florence is
best explored on foot. From the airport, take the A1 in the dir
ection of Firenze Centro. Head for Piazzale Porta al Prato and
cross the river on the Ponte alla Vitoria, take the second righ
t, and turn left onto via del Pignoncino, then onto via G. dell
a Casa, then Piazza Pier Vettori. Turn right at the gas station
, then right again onto viale Sanzio. Keep on until Piazzale di
Porta Romana and drive under the third arch on the right of th
e stone tower onto via Romana where the residence is located.
